Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using HomeStarCourses.com (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.
HomeStar Courses (“we,” “us,” or “our”) reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Description of Services
HomeStar Courses provides online real estate continuing education courses approved by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. Our services include:
- State-approved CE courses for license renewal
- Course materials and resources
- Completion certificates
- Automatic reporting to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission
Eligibility and Account Registration
To use our services, you must:
- Be a licensed real estate professional in Tennessee (or seeking licensure)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
Course Enrollment and Access
Enrollment:
- All course sales are final upon purchase
- Course access begins immediately upon successful payment
- You receive access for the duration specified at time of purchase (typically until course completion or license renewal deadline)
Course Completion Requirements:
- You must complete all course modules and assessments
- Some courses require a minimum time investment as mandated by state regulations
- You must achieve passing scores on any required quizzes or exams
- Certificates are issued only upon successful completion of all requirements
Academic Integrity:
- You must complete all coursework yourself
- Sharing login credentials is prohibited
- Cheating, plagiarism, or circumventing course requirements will result in immediate account termination without refund
Payment and Refunds
Payment:
- All prices are in U.S. dollars
- Payment is due at time of enrollment
- We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as displayed
Refund Policy:
- Full refund available within 7 days of purchase if no course content has been accessed
- No refunds after accessing course materials or completing any portion of a course
- No refunds for courses not completed by license renewal deadlines
- Failed exams do not qualify for refunds (retakes may be available per course policy)

Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content: All course materials, including text, videos, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by HomeStar Courses or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You May:
- Access and view course materials for personal educational use
- Download materials for personal study during your enrollment period
You May NOT:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute course materials
- Share login credentials or course access with others
- Record, screenshot, or capture course content for redistribution
- Use our materials for commercial purposes
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices
Violations may result in legal action and termination of access without refund.
Tennessee Real Estate Commission Compliance
Our courses are approved by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. We will:
- Report course completions to TREC as required
- Maintain records per state requirements
- Provide certificates meeting state standards
Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure courses meet your specific license renewal requirements
- Verify completion was reported to TREC
- Maintain your own records of course completion
We are not responsible if you fail to renew your license due to late enrollment or non-completion of courses.
User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Upload viruses or malicious code
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our staff
- Use automated systems (bots) to access the Site
Violations will result in immediate termination and may be reported to authorities.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES:
THE SITE AND COURSES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- That defects will be corrected
- That the Site is free from viruses or harmful components
- That courses will meet your specific requirements
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOMESTAR COURSES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding the amount you paid for the course
- Issues arising from third-party service providers (payment processors, internet providers, etc.)
Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring courses meet your licensing requirements and are completed on time.
Technical Requirements
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining compatible devices and internet connection
- Ensuring your browser meets our minimum requirements
- Resolving technical issues on your end
We provide reasonable technical support but cannot guarantee compatibility with all devices or configurations.
Third-Party Services
Our Site may integrate with or link to third-party services (payment processors, analytics, etc.). We are not responsible for their practices or policies. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and conditions.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access:
- For violation of these Terms
- For fraudulent or abusive behavior

Upon termination:
- Your right to access courses ends immediately
- Unpaid fees become due
- Completed courses already reported to TREC remain valid
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HomeStar Courses, its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your use of the Site
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution:
- Informal Resolution: Contact us first to resolve disputes informally
- Mediation: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be submitted to mediation in Knox County, Tennessee
- Litigation: If mediation fails, disputes will be resolved in the courts of Knox County, Tennessee
- You waive any right to a jury trial
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HomeStar Courses regarding use of the Site.
